Nine New Items From Goelia, Eight Outfits
Discovering A New Ladylike Brand
It is not often that I allow a brand to sponsor a YouTube video. In fact, during the eight years I have been a classic-fashion content creator on social media, I have accepted only one brand partnership. I receive sponsorship offers several times a week. It isn’t that I am particularly special; most YouTube creators receive many sponsorship offers–from brands all over the world. YouTube is a sought-after medium. I think perhaps there are fewer fashion content creators of my age on YouTube. At least, it seems that way to me. More fashion content creators of any age appear to be on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
So, it is with great care and thought that I accepted a sponsorship from the brand I want to introduce to you today. They are an Asian brand established in 1995, and their name is Goelia. I first discovered them through a YouTube ad several months ago and was so intrigued that I decided to visit their website. I was instantly hooked, because their items are not just timeless but also very feminine and ladylike. They also offer beautiful quality and craftmanship at a good value.
What do I mean by feminine? For example, the blazers are nipped in slightly at the waist to gently follow the curve of a woman’s body; and the cropped jackets have tweed fabrics with gold buttons reminiscent of Chanel. As for ladylike, tops are neither too cropped, nor too plunging. Most importantly, tops and dresses are not matronly–something I see too often in older-women’s brands, which are cut so wide that they are boxy, loose, and unflattering.
At Goelia, if a skirt is short, then the top is a modest crew neckline with longer sleeves–whether it is a dress or a skirt-and-jacket set. If the set includes a slimmer fitting cardigan (as in the set I will be showing you in this post and video), then the skirt with which it is paired is high-waisted, full, and midi length. I absolutely love that.
I have been a conservative dresser since I was a girl, probably because I was raised this way. It was drilled into me the importance of dressing appropriately and in a manner that neither offends nor stands out as garish or off-putting. To be able to find a new brand that caters to this ethic and at a reasonable price point makes me feel so at home. I love, in particular, all of the two-piece sets available, the addition of included belts, and the large selection of dresses–for fall/winter, spring/summer, and cruise.
Although Goelia is not sponsoring this post–only my video at the bottom of this page–I am so excited about them that I wanted to include this blog post about them, too. You will see nine Goelia items styled in eight different outfits. I chose all of the pieces myself, and I hope you will like the looks I created with them.
