FLORIDA-RESORT DRAWSTRING PANT UNIFORM
White Linen Pants, Navy Pinstripe Shirt, White Demi-Heel Sandals, Ralph Lauren Grommet Tote
This morning while drinking my coffee, I browsed several shops on line. There were so many cute fall-winter items, and I cannot wait to show you what I ordered. That being said, up until last week I had not been very motivated to wear fall-looking clothes; Naples has been so continually hot and humid (96 Fahrenheit and 100% humidity),it just hasn’t felt like fall. Plus, it’s Southwest Florida, so everywhere around me other people dress in summer colors and fabrics year-round.
However, several days ago we finally began receiving our cooling afternoon rainstorms, bringing the temperature down to around 86 Fahrenheit, rather than the previous 96 Fahrenheit, which is so welcome! Plus, seeing all the pretty autumn burgundies, moss-greens, chocolate browns, and slate greys has given me the needed motivation to march into the new season with renewed hope that it will– eventually–feel like fall. 🙂
The Perfect Time To Pick Up Classic Resort-Wear and Summer-Wear Items On sale
The good news is, now is a great time to pick up some wonderful hot-weather finds on sale–both for next summer and for any upcoming fall or winter resort vacations to Florida. (There are deep discounts going on at Talbots and Ann Taylor, and I picked up these cute cropped jeans in both Clearwater and Strawberry Pink.)
One of my favorite most classic, never-go-out-of-style summer and resort-wear bottoms is a linen or cotton Drawstring Pant (see similar to mine in linen blend here , and 100% linen here and here). I love to wear them with either a tee-shirt, a peasant top, or a button-up shirt like the Navy Pinstripe Button-Up I’m wearing in this post. This shirt is a deep color of blue, so it also can be warn with black. It seems to become whatever color with which it is paired.
I wear these White Leather Demi-Heel Sandals all spring and summer and have had them for several years. But, to get into the fall-winter mood I have now switched to a pair that is similar to these Brown Leather Sandals. I like the look of these with saddle-brown, moss-green, tan, beige, and ivory pants, jeans, and skirts. Plus, I love them with my white jeans and Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 in the brown monogram canvas.
For photographs of all of these items, as well as the items in my handbag, simply scroll down the page.
I hope you are having a beautiful (and a bit cooler) fall wherever you are. Thank you so much for visiting my blog, and I will write again soon.

What I Wore
Navy/White Pinstripe Button-Up Shirt (alternative Black/White Stripe Shirt)
Sun Hat, rated UPF 50+ (I replaced black chin strap with white 1/8″ nylon rope)
White 1/8″ Nylon Rope (I replaced black chin strap on my Sloggers Hat with this white rope)
(ABOVE) I’ve had this White Michele Deco Sport Watch With Silicone Strap for about eight years and wear it with casual outfits all year long. The square-face style currently is available in this Michele Deco Sport Watch with White Silicone Strap and also this Michele Deco Sport Watch with Lilac Silicone Strap; for more Michele watches, visit Neiman Marcus. The Boucheron Quatre Large, 18K Gold and Diamond Eternity Band Ring was given to me by my hubby two years ago (preloved here).

(ABOVE) One of the reasons I love David Yurman jewelry is his use of rope detailing, as seen here on the David Yurman 18k Gold Pave Diamond 14mm Chatelaine Ring (David Yurman, Neiman Marcus) and David Yurman 18k Gold Diamond Crossover Bracelet (David Yurman, Saks Fifth Avenue). I think they pair well with the Roberto Coin 18k Gold Diamond Bangle, which also features rope detailing on the gold squares surrounding each diamond. The 14k Hammered Gold Bangle is from the early 1980s and was given to me by my mother about 20 years ago.

(ABOVE & BELOW) I have been wearing these Sunglasses for several months. I have them in Jet Black and also in Butterscotch Tortoise (see both on bottom row of photograph below). What I like about shopping on this site is that I have a choice of frame color, lens color, and also width–narrow, medium, or wide. (I chose narrow.) You can see me wearing the Butterscotch Tortoise Sunglasses here.

Inside My Handbag
(ABOVE & BELOW) I bought this Ralph Lauren Collection Grommet Tote about 10 years ago and enjoy carrying it with black or navy outfits in particular. However, I have found that a handbag this color also works well with kelly green, burgundy, grey, ivory, white, and pastel pink. If you love pink, by the way, I think a deep version of it like this is the most versatile. It goes with so many other colors. See Current Ralph Lauren Tote Bags.

(ABOVE) I enjoy finding cosmetic pouches and other small leather goods that coordinate with my various handbags. This one, which I bought about 10 years ago, is from Graphic Image, a company that makes beautiful leather desk accessories. Graphic Image no longer makes zip pouches; however, I have found another company that makes a very similar Monogrammed Leather Zip Cosmetic Pouch (in two sizes)–and in a variety of colors and prints.
As I’ve mentioned before, I use pouches to corral cosmetic items. In this pouch, I carried my Ruby Mineral Fusion Lipstick, a 10 ML Glass Hand Sanitizer/Perfume Spray Bottle, and several three-ounce cosmetics jars. These 3-oz BPA-Free Cosmetic Jars (set of 25, $6.99) work well for containing hand cream and Triple Purified, 100% Pure Petroleum Jelly, and are perfectly sized for small pouches.

Hi Janis,
I hope this finds you doing well! I love your out fit! The tote is gorgeous! I especially love the color. I think it really looks great with the white pants and the stripped shirt. It’s great that your summers are longer in Naples than they are in Boston. Sometimes I get sad when it gets cooler. It means another season has quickly gone by. Enjoy your warm weather! Until next time, take care! Love and light, Sarah❤☀
Hi, Sarah! it’s wonderful to hear from you! Thank you for the reminder that I am blessed to live in Naples – even if the summers are longer than I would like. Sunshine is something I do love, and I forget sometimes that once fall and winter comes up north there is not much of it. … A case of the grass just looked greener up there:-) wishing you lots of sunny days this fall, my friend. You take care too. Much love and light back. Janis
