FALL DRESSY TROUSERS UNIFORM; BLACK TROUSERS REIGN
Tan Cardigan, White Sleeveless Ruffle Blouse, Black Ankle Pants
Oh, how I love classic fall-winter fashions–and all the gorgeous, rich colors like burgundy, moss green, deep brown, slate grey, fuchsia and, of course, red. However, if I had to pick one fall-winter color combination that is my favorite, it would have to be tan with black. These neutrals look beautiful alone, but also stunning when paired with any of the rich colors I just listed. That’s what makes them such winning colors . They are perfect together alone–or when used as a base for adding other colors, too.
Those of you who have followed me for awhile know I am a fan of pants or trousers and wear them a lot, year-round. However, when it starts getting chillier, pants become even more important to me for practical reasons–they keep me warm. These Ankle-Length Black Trousers are in a seasonless fabric and are so comfortable because of their looser fit and stretchy fabric. They also come with a matching fabric belt. Although I didn’t wear the belt in this post, it does make getting dressed so much less complicated, since you don’t need a leather belt. I also like that the pants are ankle length–I can wear any heel height with them.
I’ve had this Sleeveless White Ruffle-Neck Blouse for about 12 years. I love it so much, in fact, that I have two of them. That way, if one is in the laundry, I still have one that is ready to wear. It is a classic item that is brought back every year. If you don’t like sleeveless tops, there is also a Longsleeve White Ruffle-Neck Blouse. Something unique about this blouse is that the ruffles can be worn up or down flat. So cute!
My New Gucci Handbag
My handbag in this post is new to the blog. I bought it at Gucci in November of 2021 and like to use it in fall and winter in particular because of the lovely mix of black and dark-brown smooth leathers with taupe-beige monogram coated canvas. It is called the Gucci Padlock Small GG Shoulder Bag, and oh my goodness do I love the gold hardware. The gold chain is quite thick and chunky, as is the front padlock that serves as the opening mechanism. The gold is a deep, rich color so it is very prominent on the bag. For me, this is a positive, because it makes the bag dressy. However, it also limits the bag as well, because I wouldn’t wear it with an extremely casual outfit. Since I already have casual bags, that isn’t an issue for me. I like that it has so much gold metal; it makes the bag distinctive.
For photographs of all of these items, as well as the items in my handbag, simply scroll down the page.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog, and I will write again soon.

Scenes From The Video
Bricktop’s, Waterside Shops
(ABOVE) I usually keep two wide-brim sun hats in the backseat of our car. However, recently I had taken them out of the car, concerned they would be damaged by the hotter than normal temperatures we had been having. On this day at Waterside Shops, I was glad I was at least wearing Gabriel Powder Foundation (Bamboo), which does offer some physical sun protection. Holding my hand above my face helped a little, too 🙂
(ABOVE) Bricktops’s Restaurant at Waterside Shops in North Naples, Florida. Serving lunch and dinner, and brunch on Sundays, they offer American cuisine ranging from soups, salads, sandwiches and burgers to filet mignon, grouper, ahi tuna, scallops, and more. If you want to indulge in a decadent and delicious dessert, the Chocolate Chip Cookie is highly recommended. It is served hot, right out of the oven, accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream. To see all of the meals offered: Bricktop’s Menus.
(ABOVE) Although I refrained from fried foods for 11 years, recently I began allowing myself to occasionally splurge on French fries or, when at home, potato chips made with olive oil. Eating to get well and stay well is still my priority, so the majority of the time I stay away from foods that are less than optimum health choices. Here, I ordered a beef burger and fries without the bun, cheese, ketchup or Mayonaise. On the side I ordered steamed broccoli. For what else is available at Bricktop’s, see Bricktop’s Lunch Menu.
(ABOVE) My friend CSG ordered the Palm Beach Salad, which features crab, shrimp, tomatoes and avocados with eggs and remoulade. (She asked the server to leave off the crab.)
Talbots, Waterside Shops
(ABOVE) Here, I’m trying on the Talbots Chatham Ankle Pants, Sharkskin (size 4). Since they are similar to a pair of trousers I already have in my closet, I didn’t buy them. However, I think they are an elegant looking pant–and I love the side zipper, providing a flat front. For my blouse and shoe details, scroll down the page.
(ABOVE & BELOW) I decided to purchase the Talbots Chatham Ankle Pants, Toasty Check (size 4). I thought the small plaid was so attractive in tan, black, and burgundy. For my blouse and shoe details, scroll down the page.
What I Wore
(Note: I am 5’8” tall; size XS or 0-2 in most tops (PP at Talbots, XS or XXS at Ann Taylor, J.Crew); size 2, 4 or S in most bottoms and size 27 in most jeans; size 9.5-10 in most shoes.)
(ABOVE) This outfit color combination is such a favorite of mine. I love camel or beige with black! As for the sleeveless cotton blouse, I have had it for about 12 years. I wear it so much that I have two; that way, if one is in the wash, I always have the other one ready to wear. The blouse also comes in a long-sleeve version, which is gorgeous. My cardigan also is quite a few years old, but I found two pretty alternative cardigans for you to choose from (one in cotton, the other in wool). See all of my outfit details/links below.
White Cotton Sleeveless Ruffle-Neck Blouse (ruffles can be worn up, or down flat)
White Cotton Long-Sleeve Ruffle-Neck Blouse (same blouse as above, but with sleeves)
Black Ankle Pants (With Matching, Separate/Detachable Fabric Belt)
14k Gold Black Onyx Bead Stretch Bracelet (can be personalized)
(ABOVE) I’ve had this 14k Gold Black Onyx Bead Stretch Bracelet for about five years. It is a classic charm bracelet that can be personalized with whatever three initials you choose. It makes a wonderful gift.
(ABOVE) My husband bought me this Cartier 18k Gold Tank Watch in the summer of 2018, for my 58th birthday. The small, rectangular face shape and Roman numeral dial with black leather (alligator) strap is a classic timepiece style that is always relevant and in fashion. Classic Japanese watchmaker Seiko, founded 130 years ago, offers a very similar looking watch here. The 14K Gold Hoop Earrings are 4mm wide and 20mm in diameter with a post and clutch back.
(ABOVE) I am so surprised at how much I love these Sunglasses. I was able to choose both the frame and the lens color, and I received two pairs, along with a tiny keychain screwdriver, soft pouch, and cleaning cloth, all for under $20 at Amazon. Such a wonderful value.

Inside My Handbag

Gucci Ophidia GG Small Handbag (another Gucci bag I adore)
(ABOVE) When I bought my handbag at Gucci, I decided to also purchase a matching Gucci Key Pouch and Card Holder, too. The Key Pouch isn’t shown in my bag here, because it’s in the car ignition. My iPhone 11 Pro isn’t in the bag either, because I was filming with it. However, both fit into the handbag, along with all of the other items you see in it above. So much more than I thought can be carried in this small handbag! Below, see links to the similar Gucci small leather goods I bought, as well as the other items that were in my handbag.
Chanel Dual-Sided Mirror With Pouch (pouch not shown in this photo)
(ABOVE & BELOW) It probably seems silly for someone to be so excited about something as mundane as a Faux Pebbled-Leather Tissue Pouch, but I am just so happy to have finally found something to not just conceal a packet of tissue but to also do it quietly. I always disliked having to retrieve my tissue package from my handbag because it was so unattractive and noisy. Now, I can reach for my tissue and not have to concern myself with either anymore. I’m just so relieved. Plus, it’s under $10. More colors here.
(ABOVE & BELOW) All the makeup I am wearing is from clean cosmetic brands. See each product below.
Triple Purified, 100% Pure Petroleum Jelly (applied to cuticles and to cheeks and cheekbones as highlighter)
