Aynsley Tea Set Unboxing

I have been collecting china since my early 30s and, specifically, I love, love tea sets.  So, when the Aynsely England fine bone china company contacted me, asking if they could send me a tea set, I was thrilled, definitely.

However, I do have to admit, I was also a little worried.  After all, what if I did not like what they wanted to send me?  (There were no photographs in their email.)

I knew the Aynsley name, of course–they create beautiful, timeless collections–so, if I dared to turn them down because I did not like this particular collection… It probably meant I would never hear from them again.  After all, this was what had often happened to me in the past when I did not accept the initial conditions that a brand had proposed.

Quickly I scoured the Aynsley website for the tea set that they called “Daisy” and, suffice it to say, that I am thrilled with my Aynsley Corset Daisy Teapot and Four Teacups and Saucers.

This tea set is so colorful and fun, it makes me happy every time I look at it.  In fact, I could not help but wonder if perhaps the Aynsley team might have seen my August 2025 blog post and video in which I showed my bright and happy Marye-Kelley Tissue Box Covers and Wastepaper Baskets.  They make me giggle.

I especially love that the Daisy Tea Pot and Tea Cups  are in the Aynsley “Corset” shape–meaning, they are shaped just like a lady’s corset.  This, combined with the fact that they are made from fine bone china, makes them look so delicate and feminine–which I absolutely adore.

Of course,  looking delicate belies their actual strength, because fine bone china is known for being more chip resistant, which is why it is popular for collecting.

Lunch at Brambles English Tea Room & Reviewing My New Chanel Mini Bag

Speaking of tea, I decided to ask my friend CSG if she wanted to go back to Brambles English Tea Room for our regular lunch.  It is such a charming place.  (See my former posts about it in 2016 and 2023.

It had been ages since CSG and I had been to Brambles together–or since I had taken all of you there with us.  Plus, I thought including it here would be such a fun and fitting pairing with my Aynsley Tea Set unboxing.

Brambles’ Tea Room opened in 1995, and when David and Sharon Ott purchased it 10 years ago, they also took over the space formerly occupied by Chic Rustique at 340 Fifth Avenue South to create a Gift Shop. (Do any of you longtime Neapolitans remember that store?)  Today, Brambles English Tea Room and Gift Shop offers a diversified menu and a wide selection of teas, tea accessories, and specialty items from the U.K..

Two Navy and Burgundy Outfits

Brambles English Tea Room and Gift Shop, 5th Avenue South, Naples

(ABOVE) I ordered Scottish Breakfast Tea and a Nicoise Salad (minus the eggs and salad dressing).  To avoid allergens, I brought my own salad dressing from home. (My salad dressing recipe: two  tablespoons organic extra virgin olive oil, one tablespoon organic apple cider vinegar, and pink Himalayan salt to taste.)  I normally would have ordered a Brambles Scone for dessert (they are delicious!), but I refrained.  My husband and I were going out to dinner later, and I knew I would be splurging on a glass of red wine and a hamburger with potato chips.

My Makeup & Hair

(ABOVE) This is my makeup in the car, several hours after filming the Aynsley Tea Set unboxing portion of my YouTube video.  (BELOW) When I got home about 45 minutes later, I took this shot of my makeup outside.

(ABOVE & BELOW) I used the same makeup products on all three days of filming for this post and video.  Each is listed below and rates well on the Environmental Working Group Skin Deep Hazard/Toxicity Scale. I used the Jane Iredale Loose Mineral Foundation and Washable, Refillable Brush throughout this post and video. However, if you prefer a compact foundation, I also use and like the Jane Iredale Mineral Foundation with Compact, Bisque.
