NEUTRALS FOR A SOOTHING PALETTE

My Oatmeal and White OOTD

If I could have just one color of jeans it would be white.  I wear them year round, no matter what climate.  In Florida, I love them with sandals, ballet flats, loafers, driving moccasins, or slingback pumps.  In rain, snow, or slush I tuck them into knee-high boots and wear them with a white long-sleeve t-shirt and a thick, wool sweater or blazer.

Here, I paired White Flare Jeans (size 4) with an oatmeal Linen Shirt,  Tote, and Slingback Pumps.  I love the soothing, tonal look that oatmeal and white creates–especially with gray or graying hair.

If you shy away from white jeans because you feel they show underwear and lumps and bumps, I recommend choosing a pair that has a thicker material.  Often, jeans high in cotton work well.

Even with  jeans that are not particularly high in cotton, however, as long as they have a thicker material, they will not tend to show what is underneath as easily as so many other white jeans seem to do.

These are 98% cotton and 2% elastane.  The length is 27″, and they are just below the ankle bone on me (I am 5’8″ tall).  I think the model on line must have extremely long legs, because the jeans look much more cropped on her.

This New Ferragamo Large Tote

Also in this post and video is a quick tour of the Ferragamo Large Tote, which I purchased in February.  At that time it was called the Medium Lily Tote, but recently it has been renamed the Large Tote at Ferragamo.  I have seen other brands change the name of the sizes of their bags, too–for example Chanel and their Coco Handle bags.  My guess is that this happens when a new size is introduced that, perhaps, was not anticipated when the first bag was first created.  I really do not know, but if any of you know the reason, please do share it.

The Ferragamo Large Tote is made of smooth calfskin and measures 15″W x 10.5″H x 6.5″D, with an  8″-strap drop.  Because of the large, open interior, I use these Handbag Felt Inserts.  They keep me organized and protect the inside of the bag.

They have a tiny flare at the hem, which is why I like them so much. I think it gives them a fun, flirty look.  I bought size 4.
