Sweater Set Love

Two Sweater and Pants OOTDs

Hi, everyone.  I hope you have been able to keep warm during the cold front this week.  It has been chilly here in Southwest Florida, too;  but, of course, nothing like many of you are experiencing up north.  Not even close.  Which brings me to the topic of sweaters.  Yay!

For so much of the year, my sweater wearing is usually relegated to air-conditioned spaces like restaurants, office and bank buildings, and movie theaters.  But these days, our cooler, less humid weather means I am able to occasionally wear them outside as well.  It has been so much fun.

In this post and video I am showing two sweater-set outfits.  The first is a bit more dressy, combining Navy Silk Trousers and a Navy Short-Sleeve Sweater that is a lovely jacquard-cotton fabric with an equestrian-theme pattern. On top of it I wore a Navy, Burgundy and Ivory Scarf-Front Cotton Sweater. The day was cool but not cold, and I eventually took off  the top sweater and draped it over my shoulders.

Choosing Layers That Can Be (Safely) Removed

I wore the second outfit (an oatmeal cashmere sweater set with Ivory Skinny Jeans) on a morning that was chilly.  However, I was not sure whether the day would become warmer or cooler as it progressed, so I decided to wear an Ivory Short-Sleeve Silk Blouse underneath my Short-Sleeve Cashmere Sweater.  Therefore, if at any time I felt too warm I could simply take off the sweater.

Starting out the day I wore both of these under a Long-Sleeve Cashmere Sweater. (It was that cold.)  Later on, it warmed up enough that I could take off the top sweater and tie it around my neck.  However, later in the afternoon as I walked to my car the temperature had dropped to 62 Fahrenheit, with 20 mph gusts of wind.  I was very glad I had the top sweater to keep me warm.

I must say, wearing the silk blouse underneath the two layers of cashmere was so cozy, and yet it also seemed to help keep me from feeling too warm.  I have read that silk helps to regulate your body temperature in both hot and cold weather, so maybe that is why I like it so much.  It also gave me the added confidence of knowing I was not going to be in a pickle if I got too hot.  I could always take off both of the sweaters.  I bought the blouse and two sweaters at Quince, so they also are a wonderful value.  The cashmere pieces, for example, are $50 each.
