My dear Janis, you are a treasure! Mean people have no place anywhere on any platform! These people are irrelevant and are green eyed monsters! I had the same experience. Now, that I am older I have become wiser. No only that, I absolutely do not deal with these irrelevant, unimportant pathetic individuals. People should NOT be asking you to “show” your home! Your channel is NOT HGTV! Honestly, Janis, you do NOT need to explain yourself. You are a beautiful, talented and highly intelligent women that caters to women like me. I love classic everything! I’ve learned so much from you! The last couple of months have been very challenging for me and my hubby. He had some serious health issues. I was so beside myself, that I was losing my hair. We have weathered the storm and he’s much better. I should have explained my absence. Please keep on keeping on, Janis. Your viewers, such as myself, love you. Many Blessings, your friend from Boston, Sarah🙏💐💖
Dear Sarah, I am so sorry your husband has been ill…so much so that it worried you to the point of losing your hair. You must have been in an awful state. Thank goodness he is better. I hope you are able to take care of yourself. It is so frightening to have the one you love be seriously sick. No need at all to explain your absence. You have been such a loyal reader for so long, I just missed you. I’m glad everything is getting better now. About this video…you are such a sweetheart with your kind comments. As for mean people…can you only imagine what it must be like for people who have millions of readers or subscribers? Oh my gosh, the mean comments they get simply because they reach so many different people. People who are unhappy and striking out…You mentioned you had the same experience. I think it’s even worse when the meanness is coming from someone we know in person. Especially if it is from someone we consider a friend. As for people asking about seeing my home, I will say I do understand it, definitely. I love, love seeing beautiful private homes and gardens. I find them so inspiring. But, I always wonder how the owners maintain their safety and security. Many blessings back to you, Sarah from Boston. 💕
Thank you so much for sharing! For being so honest. You are a very pretty lady. I enjoy classic dressing also. Feminine look.
Jeanne, thank you so much for your kind comment. Also, thank you for taking the time to watch my video 💕
I just finished watching this video, and I so enjoyed “meeting” you. I understand why the delay in answering the questions. It is obvious that it took a lot of thought on your part, and in those answers you shared so much with us.
I wish that I had been more gentle in judging my mother. I have two sisters, and we all agree that the nine years since her death have made us wiser.
I always look forward to your videos. (Pick up your paintbrush. Don’t even wait to relearn the technique.)
Susan, thank you so much for watching my video! I also appreciate you being so understanding about HOW LONG I TOOK to finally respond to questions. Hearing about your own experience with your mother…”gentle in judging” is the perfect description for how I wish I had been with my mother from early on. Thank you for your encouragement in the paintbrush category 🙃 I appreciate it!
Oh my God Janis. I am so amazed at what you shared with us. I did not watch the entire feature until today. I will admit that I could not hold back my tears when you spoke about your dear mother. My mother passed away when I turned 17.
After that, my life as I new it, turned into a nightmare. Some day, maybe, I will share it with you. My mom was an elegant, beautiful woman. I was the oldest out of three children. I miss her every day. She never met my husband. She never knew the success I accomplished in my career. I want to believe in my heart, that she did know even though, in the physical sense
she wasn’t there. I wanted her to be with me when I shopped for my wedding gown. My lovely mother-in-law wanted to be with me, but, I wanted to be alone. There are so many things about you that are so much like me. Before I drench my tablet with tears I will stop for now. Please take care. Looking forward to another wonderful JLJ BACK TO CLASSIC💖 Sarah from Boston
Sarah, I can’t imagine how hard that must have been to lose your mother at such a young age. I believe as you do, that she was with you when you bought your dress and got married, and she witnessed and is proud of your accomplishments in your career. Your mother was and is blessed to have a daughter who loves her as much as you do. Thank you for sharing this with me, and the rest who read these posts. It’s very special. Wishing you all the best ~ Janis
Janis, I’ve been a follower of your blog for quite some time now. I rarely comment on your posts but always look forward to receiving them. I’m a 73 year old happily married, heterosexual woman with six grandchildren and embarrassed to admit that I have what is called a “girl crush” on you. You inspire me in every way possible with your classic style, creativity, soothing voice, refined demeanor and authentic content. Thank you for sharing part of yourself with so many of us followers. Please keep on doing what you love to do as it makes us feel better about ourselves as we apply your helpful hints to our own lives.
Laureen, thank you so much for such a kind comment. It means so much to me that sharing what I do is helpful. There are no words to fully express how grateful I am for that. I appreciate you taking the time to write to me with your thoughts. Wishing you a wonderful week! ~ Janis
