IT’S AUTUMN!

Fall and Winter Classic Foundation Pieces

I love so many of the wool, cashmere, and faux-leather classics arriving in our stores now. Of course, the temperature is still in the 90’s Fahrenheit (and humid) here in Florida; but that isn’t stopping me from at least bringing a touch of fall into some of my outfits.

In this post and video I show a variety of timeless pieces from Talbots,  J.Crew, L’Agence, and Goelia. These are in cotton, silk, wool, wool-blend, and seasonless materials that will work beautifully with other classic pieces in your wardrobe no matter where you live–from September through the winter, and some even into the spring and summer, too.

I may not wear faux-leather trousers with a wool sweater or blazer right now–or even individually while outside for a prolonged amount of time–but I certainly will wear them if I’m just walking from the car into a chilly, air-conditioned building.

For example, I wore Outfit #7 for lunch out with my hubby recently. This outfit features a White Cotton Button-Up Shirt with a gorgeous seasonless Black and White Houndstooth Full Midi Skirt, and wool-blend Black Tweed Jacket. I absolutely adore this outfit! Because it’s still so warm out, I wore the jacket over my shoulders.
