Nine Elegant Spring-Summer Outfits

Timeless Classics From Ralph Lauren, Goelia, Chanel, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Longchamp, and Stuart Weitzman

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you moms out there. I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.

Regarding this blog post and video…Those who have followed my blog for a while know that I have been a conservative dresser since I was a girl. I was raised  this way, and I also learned by observing my mother. She always maintained the discipline to never go out without looking very put together and ladylike–appropriate for the occasion and in a manner that neither offended nor stood out–and to this day I admire that quality about her.

There are a few brands synonymous with the words classic and timeless. Ralph Lauren, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Longchamp, and Stuart Weitzman are several favorites in my wardrobe. You will see in this post a pointed toe flat from both the Ralph Lauren Collection and Stuart Weitzman,  and a slim square-toe flat from Bernardo. I wear these on repeat here in Southwest Florida. They have the flattering elegance of a pump, because of the slim toe, and the comfort of a flat. They work as beautifully with dresses and skirts as they do with jeans, shorts, and trousers. I cannot recommend them enough.

You also will notice six handbags in this post. All are timeless styles, and I highly recommend them as well–or something similar. The smaller bags are my Chanel Medium Classic Double Flap,  Chanel Mini/XS Coco Handle, and  Salvatore Ferragamo Iconic Small Top-Handle Bag. My larger bags are the Louis Vuitton Black Malletage Speedy Bandouliere 25, Longchamp Roseau Medium Leather Handbag, and Longchamp Small Le Foulonne Handbag. All of these bags are classic shapes, sizes, and styles that never go out of fashion. This is why I love classics. They are always stylish–which is truly sustainable fashion.

A brand that joins the list of more recent purveyors of classic clothing is Goelia (established in 1995)–which I discovered last summer. I was excited to find them because, not only do they cater to the timeless ethic, they do so at a reasonable price point. (ABOVE & BELOW) Oh my goodness, I am such a fan of these Flat-Front Cotton Pants (I’m wearing size 27). The material is a cotton blend, and like the Pleated-Front Cotton Pants I will be showing you further down in this post, the cotton-blend material  used by Goelia is so luxuriously soft and thick, they feel as soft as pajamas. However, because of the substantial thickness of the fabric, I don’t need to wear control-wear beneath them like I do many of my other white and off-white trousers. Thank you, Goelia!

(ABOVE & BELOW) This Goelia Ruffle-Neck Tie Blouse  (I’m wearing size XXS) is such a versatile piece in your wardrobe. It’s fitted in the shoulders, giving it a refined presence, and yet it’s roomy in the body, so it doesn’t make me hot, even in our very hot and humid weather. For that reason, it works beautifully with jeans for a comfortable, refined casual look, like a show here. I think everyone could benefit by having several dressy blouses like this in their wardrobe, because you never know when you might wish you had it to quickly throw on when needed. It works well for a church setting, at the office, afternoon  tea, date night with your partner. The list is endless.

(ABOVE & BELOW) These Goelia Xian Yun Black Silk Pants are gorgeous. They are made from an ancient process and dyed with plant colors, creating a design in the fabric that is unique. They are exceptionally comfortable in our hot weather because they keep me cool. I love that about silk.

This Goelia Silk Button-Up Blouse is almost identical to the one I’m wearing. Plus, this Goelia Silk Round-Neck Tee and Goelia Silk V-Neck Tee are wonderful alternatives, too. In fact, had I seen them before now I would have ordered them to show in this collection of spring/summer pieces. They are such gorgeous alternatives to a cotton tee. (ABOVE & BELOW) I like this Goelia V-Neck Blouse so much that I couldn’t wait to wear it to lunch with my husband as soon as I got it. The soft pleating at the shoulders gives it an appealing soft and feminine look. I particularly like the way I am wearing it here, with the sleeves rolled up. It gives it a more relaxed feel. The V neckline is not too low or too high and is perfect for showing a necklace, or the pearl chain that comes with it. (The removable pearl chain attaches to the inside of the blouse.)

(ABOVE & BELOW) This Goelia Gathered-Waist Midi Dress is so comfortable, because it has an elasticized waist and is loose in the body, keeping me cool in our hot weather. It also has a generous, full skirt with deep pockets. I love full skirts with pockets! I sized up to a Small to give me more length in the torso (I’m long waisted).

Something else that is so comfortable are these Bernardo Leather Ballet Flats.I have walked all over Waterside Shops in these–several times. Available in a variety of colors, I also have them in Champagne Gold.

(ABOVE & BELOW) As I said in the video, this Goelia Silk Midi Skirt was very much a surprise to me. I love the way the bottom flips a bit when you walk. It’s so feminine and elegant. Although it would look gorgeous dressed up with these ivory Leather Slingback Pumps that I also have, I love it with flats. To make it even more casual, just ad a white crewneck cotton t-shirt and flat sandals.

(ABOVE & BELOW) I love beige and white year-round. Add a top in cool and comfortable silk, and it’s a perfect combination for hot summers. Both the Goelia Silk Puff-Sleeve Blouse that I’m wearing and this Goelia Silk 3/4-Sleeve Blouse look wonderful paired with white.

These white Goelia Pleated-Front Jeans are luxuriously soft and look like trousers. Because of the wide leg, they don’t make me uncomfortable in our hot and humid weather. I love them so much, in fact, I wore these pants out twice before I even filmed them. I knew I was taking a chance, because I didn’t want to get anything on them before I showed them to you. But, I couldn’t wait. They’re so cute!
