LINEN BLAZER OUTFIT FOR MEETING & LUNCH OUT

Polo Ralph Lauren Plaid Linen Blazer

We had enough days of cold weather this past winter that I was able to wear two of my wool blazers several times. Mostly I wore them with jeans–ecru, black, beige, and white. When the weather warmed up into the 70s and higher I  switched to linen blazers. Among them is the one I show here, from Polo Ralph Lauren, and I cannot recommend enough the value of purchasing a classic piece like this. I wore it recently for a meeting and lunch out.

Because of its tweed-like plaid weave, it doesn’t seem to show wrinkles like my other linens, even after sitting in a hot car for an hour. Although this exact one is sold out, there is a Similar Polo Ralph Lauren Blazer available, and it has a light-aqua thread running though part of the plaid. It’s just gorgeous. Even better, it is now on sale.

I like mixing beige, brown, and khaki with crisp white. It’s such a soothing combination and works well during those spring and summer days when I don’t feel like wearing pastels, but I do want lighter tones.

My handbag is the Louis Vuitton Multi Pochette Accessoires (preloved here). I wanted to wear dark brown accessories, and the Louis Vuitton monogram coated-canvas set of pouches adds a fun element to my outfit. Because I was going to a meeting, I also carried this Brown Leather Document Holder to corral my notebook, paper pad, and papers. Previously I’d carried my papers in their paper folder and the contents ended up on the seat (and floor) of my car. This took care of that messy problem. It comes in a choice of several colors, and it is under $25.

(ABOVE & BELOW) I recently bought this Brown Leather Document Holder, because I was finding that any time I needed to take papers or documents with me, I was carrying them in folders, and many of the contents were ending up strewn over the seat (and floor) of my car. This has made attending meetings so much easier–and less messy. Constructed of leather inside and out, it has a removable wrist strap, and the hardware is aged gold.  It is under $25.

(ABOVE & BELOW) Oh my goodness I did not realize the lenses of my Tortoise Sunglasses were so dirty until I saw this photograph. (Probably because I’ve not cleaned them since I bought them last September!) Nevertheless I love them, because they are so cute and work well with classic outfits. The price: under $13 for a set of two (one in tortoise and one in black). Such a wonderful value.

(ABOVE & BELOW) I’ve had this Henschel Aussie Hat since the fall of 2015 (also at Walmart). It is made of rigid cotton, has a brown-leather chin strap, and works beautifully with trouser or jeans outfits.

(ABOVE) You who have been following my blog or YouTube channel for awhile know my (silly/ridiculous) fascination with purse face-tissue pouches, and it continues with this Tan/Cognac Tissue Pouch. It is in faux pebbled leather and is the prettiest color of cognac (they list it as “tan” on line). I love the look of it with my brown, beige and tan bags and accessories–and no more crinkly, plastic-wrap packaging sounds (or visuals ) when I want to discreetly retrieve a face tissue! Yay!! (ABOVE) How I curled my hair: The day before, I applied a small amount of this Organic Argal Oil into my freshly shampooed, air-dried hair. Then, just before putting Hot Rollers in my hair, I applied one palm full of this Styling Mousse to my dry hair and combed it through.  (This does have a scent, but I think it’s pleasant and it doesn’t give me headaches, as so many scented products do.)

Next, I took a section of my hair, lightly dampened the lower half of it with water, then rolled up that section. I repeated this until all my hair was in rollers (I used most of the rollers). I then left the rollers in my hair for one hour before removing them. After taking them out, I combed out my hair with this Hair Comb. If you prefer a stronger hold and unscented styling product, I recommend this Hair Styling Gel. I currently do not use any hairspray. However, I am searching for a green/clean-beauty hairspray to test and will keep you posted.)

Note: Both the mousse and gel I have used are considered green/clean-beauty products and rate well/low in toxicity/low in allergies at Environmental Working Group. Also, neither cause me itchiness, headaches, burning eyes, or a rash.
