LUNCH WATERSIDE SHOPS; MY CASUAL OOTD
Back To Bricktops for Lunch
My friend *CSG and I had planned to have lunch at Grain de Cafe in north Naples, but when we arrived we discovered it isn’t open on Tuesdays. So, we decided to meet at Bricktop’s again since we were in that part of town. We both really like the restaurant. While she chose their famed Cobb Salad, I decided to order a side of romaine lettuce with an unseasoned hamburger patty, then cut up the meat and tossed my homemade salad dressing into it (see recipe below). I like this combination when out at restaurants, because it’s a safe choice for me. There are only two ingredients, so I don’t have to worry about accidentally consuming something to which I may be allergic or don’t well tolerate.
My Casual OOTD
Although I ended up wearing more eye makeup than I’d meant to for such a casual outfit, I decided to keep it since I didn’t have time to remove and re-do it–and also I wanted to show it to you (but recommend it for a dressier occasion). Typically, my rule of thumb is, the more casual my outfit and venue, the more minimal the eye shadow I wear.
Again I’m wearing my favorite classic, casual uniform–jeans and a button up top. This top is a denim shirt I bought at Banana Republic years ago (see a similar denim shirt here). I have several different washes in denim, from very light to dark. This one is somewhere between, and I like how it looks with these caramel jeans and black, pointy toe flats. It’s such a great combination for fall-winter.
However, if I was up north, I’d wear socks and black duck shoes with a black wool pullover. For links to the exact item or similars, simply scroll down to the end of this post.
Oh, and by the way, my handbag comes in both black or ecru and is on sale! It’s so cute and can be dressed up or down (available at Longchamp or similar at Saks Fifth Avenue).
I hope December is going well for you.
~ Janis

(ABOVE) For lunch at Bricktops, my friend CSG ordered the Cobb Salad and (BELOW) I ordered a side of romaine lettuce and an unseasoned hamburger patty, which I cut up and tossed with my homemade salad dressing (2 tablespoons organic EVOO, 1 tablespoon organic ACV, and Himalayan salt to taste). FYI: Note my friend’s Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene Neverfull PM, with its gorgeous red interior, resting on the bench beside her.

You always look lovely! I am so glad you are doing better!:)
Thank you, Cathy 🙂
Just wondering where CSG blouse is from.
So glad to have you back Janis. You were missed
I will check with her and get back to you, Leslie. I don’t know! It’s so pretty, isn’t it?
Leslie, unfortunately my friend CSG’s blouse is from spring 2022, so it’s no longer on line or in stores. It was from the Michael Kors Collection, and she bought it from Saks. Spring clothes for 2023 will begin coming into stores and online in February, I think, so hopefully there will be more pretty white eyelet tops available. Wishing you a happy new year!
Hi Janis!
So glad to see another video from you.
Love all your “stuff” especially the Cartier Tank watch.. very classic yet so very fresh too.
I also adore anything monogrammed so I looked on the Mark and Graham site. So many fabulous things!!
Thank you for the link.
Enjoyed seeing The Waterside Shops too.
Wishing you a wonderful holiday!
Claudia
Claudia, I’m so happy you are a monogram person, too! It’s such a fun, added touch to personalize our clothes, accessories, and home decor. That site is so much fun!
Hi Janis,
Hope that you and hubby are doing well!
Another wonderful video! I love your outfit! The combo of the camel jeans and dark denim shirt is fabulous. No one does classic simplicity the way that you do! I purchased the the burgundy card holder. You introduced me to these small treasures a couple of years ago and I’ve purchased a couple of them. Great value as they are high quality and made so well! I’ve got to get the Longchamp’s cross body bag! Maybe Santa will surprise me ;-)! Have a great week, my friend, and stay safe! Love and light, Sarah
Hi, Sarah! Oh, I hope you like the burgundy card holder! You must love bumblebees, too. 🙂 You have a great week, too, my friend. Love and light back.
I have followed you now for several years and enjoy your style and also your calm demeanor very much.
Your personal story of dealing with health challenges I find interesting and love that you share it with us all.
Question: Where was your hat protecting you from the winter sun? Also you did not use your sunglasses walking in sunlight. Yes, we see your make up that way however I wondered due to your health journey. I myself in later years have had several skin cancers from poor care with it all. Ten accumulated Sun minutes a day is enough to harm skin.
Sunblock helps…..however the inside of ears and scalp are real serious issues. I’ve had surgery to an ear inside that required skin grafting. I sincerely hope you read this in the manner I meant, and not a criticism. Thank you so much for your videos. Many blessings and a happy Christmas season to you and your family.
I have difficulty wearing a hat with my hair in a bun, so that’s why I am not wearing a hat here. Once my hair gets back to looking presentable, I look forward to wearing a hat again! In the mean time, since I’m doing without one, I try not to let my face get too much sun. Also, I normally do wear my sunglasses, but take them off for parts of videos so I can see you and you can see me. Just for filming 🙂 Happy Christmas to you and your family, too, Julie
New subscriber – love your blogs and vlogs and thank you for adding “what I would wear up north” since that is where I am. We have such similar taste but I love a different perspective and vision. Keep up the good work and thank you!
