(ABOVE) I wore this J. McLaughlin dress with a Talbots yellow leather bag for lunch at Bricktop’s, a restaurant in Naples. To protect my eyes when outside in the sun, I always wear sunglasses. These are Tortoise-Gold Kate Spade Lucyann glasses, which I had made into prescription sunglasses. You can find the hat I’m wearing here.

Thursday, May 26, 2016 /Vlog Post Notes
The shirt dress is such a go-to classic. Add a matching belt, and it creates the illusion of a flattering hourglass appearance, whether we actually have that shape or not. (I don’t. I’m more of a triangle shape.)
This one is linen, from J. McLaughlin. (Past season. See an alternative J. McLaughlin here.) I don’t worry about the material wrinkling, because it’s so darn cute and comfortable.
Plus, whenever I wear linen I think of Meryl Streep in “Out of Africa“. Her fashions (and home) in that film were gorgeous. She never looked worse for the wear!
Linen also is wonderfully cool, and now that the temperature is reaching 90 degrees Fahrenheit (and the humidity is up there with it), that is essential.
Hope you are having a lovely week.

(ABOVE) This is me vlogging in my Jeep, before heading into the restaurant..
(ABOVE) My classic wide-brim straw hat is actually a men’s lifeguard hat. (I like the larger size, so it isn’t so tight that it hurts my head!) It isn’t perfect at protecting my skin, because dots of sun do sneak through here and there, but I’ve worn some version of it for the past 11 years. (Alternative women’s-size hat, which I also wear and protects my face better, here.)
(ABOVE) My friend prepares her Cobb Salad. I ordered the same (minus a few items).

(ABOVE AND BELOW) On my eyelids I’m wearing 100 Percent Pure Fruit Pigmented Cream Stick Eye Liner in the color Hope Diamond. On my my lips is Nourish Organic Shea Butter with Hemp Organics-Cologanics Lip Tint in Berry. My hoop earrings are 14k gold, .8″ size.
