Something about this dress says fresh, feminine, and summer to me.  I’m not sure why.  Maybe it’s the sweet green, small print and empire waist. Whatever it is, I am happy to discover this company, Boden–I’d never heard of them.

According to their website, Boden is a British company that started in 1991 as a menswear line. They introduced womenswear in 1992, and launched in the U.S. in 2002.

Because they have free exchanges and returns, that eased my mind a little. But what ultimately convinced me to buy this dress was the ability to choose a tall length, what they call “long”. (They offer petite, regular, and long lengths.)  I opted for long, instead of regular, and I’m glad I did.  I am 5′ 8.5″ tall, but have a longer torso than normal, so dresses are often too short for me.

I’ve also worn the dress with flat sandals, less jewelry, and a straw bag; I like it both ways.
