Suede during the summer? Not to mention a hot and humid Southwest Florida summer? I would not have considered doing it, until I found this light-weight, faux-suede skirt at Marshall’s back in March (see my vlog about it here).
This season, designers are once again showing everything from suede jackets to skirts, sandals and booties. In clothing items, it’s all about weight and thickness. These are soft, delicate fabrics. Granted, I’d want to be in air conditioning if I was wearing any sort of a jacket this time of year, particularly suede. But I think a light-weight suede (or faux-suede) skirt works well during the summer, as long as I wear a slip.
Of course, if you don’t like the idea of suede right now, but like the neutral, midi-skirt boho look I’m wearing here, there are plenty of alternative skirts in other materials available in stores. I’ve included several down below. ~Janis Lyn Johnson
