(ABOVE) Although black accessories are lovely with gray, I opted to carry a blue bag with this outfit, for a slightly softer look.

Ruffles, And More Ruffles!
Decorative ruffles first showed up in the early 1700s and, lucky for us, they have never gone out of style. They’re especially popular this fall, because fashion designers have deemed them “in”, so you’ll find them on shirts, skirts, jackets, and even shoes.
This particular ruffle shirt is crafted from a stretch-cotton blend (67% cotton, 28% polyester, 5% spandex), so it’s extra comfortable. I particularly love the cuff, because there are ruffles on the top and the bottom. So pretty!
What impressed me about these pants was the combination of ankle length and slim, stretchy fit. I think this makes them flattering on any figure. Plus, with an ankle length, I can wear any shoe I want (low, medium, or high heel). On line, they’re listed as the color “black,” but as you can see, they’re predominantly light gray.
Although I typically shy away from wearing large prints on my lower half–since it’s larger in proportion to my top half–the soft gray tone on these is so subtle, I like them on me. If you’re interested, they’re still available, as is my shirt.
Getting back to the subject of shoes, these suede and patent-leather pumps come in narrow and medium widths, they’re on sale, and are available in a variety of colors (including burgundy).
For details on everything else I’m wearing (accessories, jewelry, makeup, moisturizers), plus several alternative ruffle tops, pants and pumps I found on line, simply scroll to the bottom of this post.
I hope you’re having a peaceful week.
All the best to you!

Thank you so much, Patricia 🙂 ~ Janis
Your makeup looks so pretty and the gray outfit looks good on you. Gray is one color that I don’t wear very often. It just doesn’t look good on me. And I love the blue purse with the outfit. I wanted to ask you a question. I am 61 now and I have noticed that lip color doesn’t look as good on my lips as it once did. I love the matte lip sticks because they stay on longer but they just make my lips look old. What do older ladies use on their lips to keep them younger looking. I usually end up putting some lip balm over the lipstick so it won’t feel so dry. I never leave the house without my lip color on.
Hi, Lynne! I am the same as you. My lips get dry so very easily! For that reason, at the same time I apply my face lotion, I moisturize my lips with organic shea butter. Then, after applying my face, eye and cheek makeup, I blot my lips to remove any excess shea butter, and then apply my lip color. I take a little pot along with me in my purse, along with whatever lip color I’m wearing that day, so I can refresh my lips with either when I want to. ~ Janis
Hi Janis
I agree the blue accessories look much softer than black, but of course black would have worked too,or even red. Such a lovely outfit.
