Gretchen Scott, Naples, Florida, An Experience in Classic Playful, Preppy Fashion
Until a few months ago, when a friend gave me a pretty scarf from Gretchen Scott, I didn’t know she had a store in our town. I’d only recently discovered her fashions on line, so I was excited to try on some things I’d been eyeing for a while.
I spent a little more than two hours there, and I can tell you that as much as I enjoy her website, the store features even more than what you see on line. Yes, it has the classic, resort-style dresses, tops, skirts, and pants in bright and happy prints that I adore, but there is also gorgeous fine jewelry, art, home decor, and more. It’s such a fun and colorful feast for the eyes. My vlog only scratches the surface! If you live here or are visiting, and you find yourself in the Third Street South area, it’s definitely worth dropping by.
Just around the corner is Ridgway Bar & Grill, and it was the perfect spot to meet my friend, Gail, for lunch, before heading back out again. Luckily, we were already ensconced on the enclosed porch when it started raining. Neither of us had remembered our umbrellas, so we stayed inside until the weather cleared. We didn’t mind, because we both love, love rain and rainy days in general. Naples is blessed with so many sunny, warm days year-round that it’s a fun change when we get rain or cooler weather.

P.S. Note: Some Gretchen Scott dresses have four-inch hems, so the item can be lengthened. Call or visit to find out which prints/styles are available with this.
Scenes From The Vlog
(ABOVE) The perfect sunny morning turned into a rainy day only a few hours later. That’s a typical summer day around here, because summer is the Naples rainy season. (BELOW) During a quick break in the rain, Gail and I left Ridgway Bar and Grill and she let me take her picture. She looked so cute in her super-comfy and casual outfit.
