(ABOVE) This white Ann Taylor pencil skirt is a favorite.  It’s such a clean, simple style. I like how it contrasts with the soft, oversized Cabi peasant top and Talbots yellow pebbled-leather bag.

I’ve had this sheer floral peasant top for about five years.  It’s quite oversized, which makes it cool and comfortable for summer, but it can be a bit overwhelming on me if I don’t pair it with something much slimmer on the bottom.

Enter the white pencil skirt.  It’s such a terrific staple, because it goes with so many tops of varying proportions.  I’ve had this one from Ann Taylor for several years, and it was just what my floral top needed to give it some polish.
