A LIGHT-WEIGHT JACKET FOR TRANSITIONING TO SPRING
I have been eyeing Burberry’s light-weight quilted jackets for the last year, and was considering buying one in black or navy. They’re such an iconic classic item, and they’re perfect for transitioning into spring. Burberry jackets also are in the $500-plus price range, so I decided to search on line to see if I could find one I loved just as much for under $200. Happily, I uncovered several.
This one from Ralph Lauren was my favorite, because of the longer length and the adjustable belt in back that allows me to cinch the waist if I wish. It comes in three other colors, too. (The blush one is so pretty.)
I’ve been a fan of quilted jackets since I bought my first one (in off white) at Ann Taylor some 15 or 20 years ago. Two years ago, I bought a gorgeous one from Talbots in pumpkin. I wanted one in black, because it’s such an easy and elegant color to pair with nearly anything.
We’re having an unseasonably warm winter right now, but from December through the end of March our temperatures can plummet to the 40s or 50s. A few weeks ago, it was so chilly here that my jacket with a turtleneck, wool sweater, and jeans was just perfect.
On this day, I wore my outfit without the jacket once I finished filming, because at 83 degrees Fahrenheit outside it was too warm for outerwear. Of course, I’m secretly hoping we have a dip in temperature, so I can wear it at least several times again. 🙂
