This award-winning, shingle-style house by Stephen Fuller was built for a client from New York City who wanted a weekend retreat on Lake Keowee. According to Fuller, the client needed a home that would be big enough to accommodate many houseguests at one time, but also still be comfortable and inviting for him and his family.
Located on a one-acre site that slopes steeply to the lakeside below, the home is an understated two levels on the front and three stories on the back, punctuated by a bold octagonal tower. The exterior is a mix of native granite and cedar shake with classic white, wood trim. Inside, white wood detailing continues with prominent mouldings and tongue-and-groove paneling.
