Softening Black and White With Pastel Pink
If you saw my September Favorites post/video, then you remember this Kate Spade tote. It’s such a fun, girly-girl color; and for when I’m feeling really playful, the other side says, “Skirt The Issues”. (It also came with a cute hula girl bag charm.)
I thought I’d show it today because it’s still available here (and on sale!); plus, Kate Spade has come out with another very similar pastel-pink tote called the Leewood Place Rainn. It has scalloped trim and a zippered top (mine has an open top).
I love wearing pastel pink year round, especially with white, grey, and ivory. In the heart of a cold winter, it’s also wonderful for taking the edge off dark colors like black, chocolate brown, burgundy, gun metal, and navy.
The day I wore this outfit, I was meeting friends at a restaurant in North Naples called Grain de Cafe. It’s a charming little place and the food is great. I shot my outfit behind the restaurant, just before heading into lunch. A firetruck drove by while I was modeling by myself in the road. I felt so ridiculous!
But such is the life of vlogging!

Scenes From The Vlog
GRAIN DE CAFE, NAPLES, FLORIDA
(ABOVE & BELOW) At Grain de Cafe in North Naples, patrons have the option of dining indoors or under umbrellas outside on a patio. This Lifeguard Hat is a men’s size. It’s more comfortable because it’s loose on my head. Unfortunately, because the straw isn’t tightly woven, sun does peek through the holes. For when I feel I’ll be out in the sun longer I wear this Women’s Size hat, which is more tightly woven.
(ABOVE) There is an extensive menu, including breakfast items. I chose the Salad de La Mer. (I left off the cocktail sauce and had brought my own organic, homemade salad dressing.)

I look forward to your video’s and posts. I think you look amazing for your age and I love your style. We are the same age and I have a frown line which annoys me as it can make me look grumpy when I’m not, but Trying to avoid Botox. What do you do for your lines on your forehead? …. you don’t have any!
Hi, Kate! Thank you so much! I have that same frown line, and I know what you mean about how frustrating it is. (Mine is like an 11.) I’ve decided to just accept it, since I can’t do anything about it (like you, I don’t want to do Botox or injections or plastic surgery). I did get lucky (probably my genes) regarding my forehead. Where I have all my lines is around my eyes and mouth. When I smile you can REALLY see the eye lines. Plus, my skin is not firm and I have bags under my eyes. This video offered fairly good lighting, but when I did the photos outside, which are at the end, you can see the circles beneath my eyes. So I moisturize, moisturize, moisturize and try to stay as happy and grateful as possible for what I do have in my life that brings me joy. And I think we all look pretty when we’re happy! I bet your frown line isn’t nearly as bad as you think. We’re sooo hard on ourselves!! Please know you’re perfect the way you are! Take care and hugs ~ Janis
