A Classic Tradition Repeated: Hats In The Garden 2016
I attended the 13th annual Hats in The Garden last Wednesday, and oh my goodness how much fun it was! The event benefited Naples Botanical Garden, 170 acres of lush open landscaped lands designed around 10 different gardens, three miles from downtown Naples.
Funds Benefit a New Special Needs Urban Production Garden
This year, funds from the event go toward a new vocational and life-skills program for young adults called the Market Garden. According to event chair Kathy Woods, the Market Garden will serve as an outdoor classroom to provide local special needs high school students with the skills and space to grow, harvest, and market their own produce from an urban production garden with raised beds, wheelchair access, potable irrigation, specialty tools, and a large chickee hut.
I look forward to this event every fall because it raises funds for the wonderful NBG and, of course, because I get to dress up in pretty clothes and a hat. Last year, I wore a navy polka dot dress with tan accessories (see it here). This year, I wore a dress, bag, and shoes I’ve had for six or eight years and a hat to match that I found on line last summer.
Cheers to another successful Hats In The Garden for NBG!

Hi, sweet Rose! I love that cowboy hat, too. It’s a man’s size of hat, so it’s very loose and comfortable. It doesn’t give me “Hat Head” or “Hat Hair”!! And yes, it’s on Amazon. Thank you for visiting my blog again! Cheers to you ~ Janis
