Naples’ Gretchen Grant was attempting to get to her car with groceries when I stopped her mid-stride outside Food and Thought Organic General Store.
The flash of her outfit strolling by–coral chinos topped with navy and white striped top–was striking in its clean simplicity. Keeping the look uncluttered, Gretchen accessorized only with cute sandals and a few pieces of quality jewelry. Among these were a Cartier Love Cuff Bracelet from her husband, which Gretchen explained was “a ‘push present’–for going through labor”. It’s engraved with her son’s name and birthdate. (He turns one soon.) She also was wearing a Cartier tank watch, and a Trinity de Cartier Bracelet with an interchangeable cord. She got the bracelet when she found out she was pregnant with her son. (Note: I am kicking myself for not getting a better shot of her bracelets and watch.)
Thank you, Gretchen, for sharing the sentimental story behind your jewelry and for letting me take your picture(s). I hope your lettuce did not wilt because I took so long! ~Janis Lyn Johnson
