Wearing Color Combinations That I Enjoy in My Home, Too
I bought this dress back in February, and I can officially say I now love, love wearing aqua with light blue. (If you’re interested, it’s now part of a major sale at J. McLaughlin.)
A few months later I found this Gigi New York clutch in the same color as the aqua in my dress. How fun to find a match like that. By the way, if you like the color of this clutch, it’s on sale, too, at Gigi New York.
You know, it’s interesting that I always liked wearing navy with kelly green but had never worn their pastel counterparts together. Considering they’re the colors in our family room (with shell pink), it just goes to show how narrow minded I’ve been. If I like certain color combinations in home decor, why wouldn’t I like them in what I wear, too.
I’m grinning now, because I just got an image in my head of Carol Burnett’s iconic Scarlet O’Hara green-velvet drapes dress. For those of you who wonder what I’m talking about, it was a 1976 comedy skit on the comedienne’s CBS variety show in which she reenacts a scene from the movie Gone With The Wind. Only, with Burnett’s dress, she neglects to remove the curtain rod. (See it here.)
I cannot stop grinning.
