(ABOVE) Navy and coral–one of my favorite color combinations!
When they were my age, I’m not sure my mother’s generation would have worn a camel, beige, and brown animal-print bag with a coral and black-striped top. I never thought of doing such a thing either–until about six or so years ago, when J. Crew paired their wool, leopard-print “Tippi” pullover with wool fuscia cropped pants. That was sort of amazing to me, and I loved it. (J. Crew has another leopard-print Tippi sweater this year, too.)
Then, the following summer or after, I stood in line behind a college-age woman wearing a small, leopard-print crossbody bag with a bright floral sundress. (Now that I think about it, we were in J. Crew–how ironic.) I was so inspired, I spent years looking for a similar bag. Finally, last fall, I found this cute one.
So, what you see here is my version of that style idea–styling leopard in unexpected ways. Thank goodness for the younger generations; they invent such fun, unexpected things. ~Janis Lyn Johnson

Great look. I love that top on you, it just POPS! I like how you’ve paired it with the leopard purse.
Thank you, Brian. I wasn’t sure about the leopard with the stripes until I saw it in the photographs!
