(ABOVE) One long, lean color of muted color. (Photographs and video in this post.)
I purchased this one-button oatmeal cardigan, because I liked how lightweight and flowing it was. It’s a completely different look than my traditional cardigans and pullovers.
Here, I paired it with slim jeans in ecru to balance the sweater’s loose, asymmetrical fit and to create one long, lean monotone line.
Although I could have worn my whiskey boots with a bag the same color, I thought I would take a chance and pair them instead with my monogrammed bucket bag in the color stone. (I know. I know. It isn’t much of a risk for most people, but I am awfully set in my ways sometimes, and this was my baby step in the experimenting department.)
It wasn’t until I was dressed and walking out the door that I noticed the underside of the shorter handle of the bag just happens to be whiskey, too. I thought that was serendipitous (And clearly shows that I do not pay enough attention to things!) ~Janis Lyn Johnson

Hi Janis.
We met at Gail’s retirement party. She had mentioned your blog and I’m so happy that she went ahead and put me on your list. I really enjoy your videos. I too like all things old (ok-most thing). Also, watching the way you put outfits together has inspired me to be more individual. One thing your latest blog taught me was how to carry those bags with the double handles. I always thought it was so “messy”, but you answered that for me and make it look so elegant. Thanks-now I can buy one! Please keep up the great job-your blog is the best! Anne
Wow, Anne, thank you so much for such a kind comment–and for taking a look at my blog. I am thrilled it inspires you to express your true individual style. That is fantastic!
