Natural/Organic Hair Care Products I Currently Use
Because this video ran somewhat long, I decided to break it up into two separate posts (Part Two, covering skin care, will publish next week).
In Part One, I talk about all the hair-care products I’ve been using and loving for at least the last four months, plus one I’m looking forward to trying. I also explain when and why I use my store-bought conditioner and when and why I use one that I make myself. My DIY conditioner is wonderful because it’s 100 percent organic, contains only three ingredients, and it removes shampoo film, conditions your hair, and can help to balance your hair’s pH. (The vinegar smell fades once your hair dries.)
My Homemade Organic Hair Conditioning Rinse
What You’ll Need:
1 T Organic Apple Cider Vinegar
1 Drop Organic Jojoba Oil (I transfer some of the oil into a glass dropper bottle so I can measure out single drops)
11-12 ounces warm water
Directions: Combine vinegar, oil, and warm water in a plastic squeeze bottle (I use an old shampoo bottle). After shampooing, pour conditioner all over your hair, from scalp to ends. Leave on for 30 seconds or more. Rinse thoroughly. (Note: Make sure to rinse well.)
If you try the recipe, or any of these products, I hope you’ll let me know how you liked it or them.

Hi,
Do you use any products to help your silver hair stay silver? I am looking for a clean product. I love your videos:)
Hi, Elisa! No, I don’t use anything but Dr. Bronner’s organic liquid unscented soap. For an after rinse, I use either apple cider vinegar with two drops of jojoba oil in 12 ounces of water or the Dr. Bronner’s Citrus Organic Hair Rinse
Thank you so much for visiting my blog! ~ Janis
Janis, so enjoy all the wonderful information. Have made a few lifestyle changes thanks to you! I notice that the skin care regimen you talk about is several years old. Could you possibly update us on what you are currently doing if anything is different? Your skin is gorgeous. Thanks again for putting all this info together.
Hi, Janis:
LOVE your blogs & videos! Pardon my ignorance, but what does OOTD mean? ha Please keep up your wonderful gift of sharing yourself with all of us. Your are truly beautiful and I really enjoy your childhood photos, sights around your city and all of your great advice. Plus, you’re super with your camera and add great music!
Regards,
Mary Jane
Hi, Mary Jane! OOTD means “Outfit of The Day”. Thank you so much for asking. 🙂 ~ Janis
Do you ever use Dr. Brinner’s scented soaps on your hair? Is there a difference in the shampoos ingredient list other than the scents themselves.
Thank you for all the information you provide. I love it when I see that you’ve made a new video.

Hi, Gail! I have tried the lavender-scented liquid soap. I found it’s best if I dilute it with some unscented Dr. Bronner’s liquid soap, because the scent is a bit too strong for me. As for ingredients, there is no difference on my bottles except for the lavender scent being added to the lavender-scented formula. Hope that helps. Thank you so much for watching my videos–and for taking the time to visit my blog! ~ Janis
Your info is really great and I would like to try some of your ideas. Do you wear perfume and what scent?
