FALL OOTD & GREEN BEAUTY LIP COLORS
Warm-Weather Fall Style
Many of you now are facing snow, but for those of us in southern Florida, the weather still is fairly warm. For that reason, I’m wearing layers that have no wool and easily can be removed if I get hot.
One of my favorite layering pieces in this weather is a jacket with no wool. This one from Talbots actually is a tweed-look sweater jacket, so it’s easy to move in and, therefore, very comfortable. It is only available in a limited number of sizes, but I did find several on line that are similar–both with and without wool–and I show them at the bottom of this post.
For a casual feeling, I paired my blazer with lighter-wash jeans and leather-mule loafers that I’ve had for about 10 years. I like mules also because of the comfort factor. If you get a pair that fit well and come up on the top of your arch high enough, I find they are easy to keep on and walk in for quite some distance–which, clearly, is very important, but I’ve found isn’t always the case with all mules. I located several similar mules on line and show those, too, at the bottom of this post.
A New (To Me) Green-Beauty Makeup Line
I recently was contacted by Au Naturale and asked if I would like to try several products. To be honest, I’d not heard of the brand, so I researched them on line. What I discovered is impressive. Their ingredients are all non-GMO or organic, to which they add natural mineral color pigments; they also are paraben free, cruelty free, gluten free, and vegan. In addition to their own website, Au Naturale’s products are available at a variety of sites on line, including Amazon and Neiman Marcus.
The items I tested for this post are Perfect Match Petal Lip Pencil and Plume Eternity Lipstick. The lip pencil provided a nice, light-pink matte base, and the lipstick added a creamy, moisturizing deeper pink on top–a combination I like very much. Also, I love the lip pencil worn with a 100% Pure Gemmed Lip Gloss over it–such as Crystal or, for a bit more color, Peacock Ore.
On line at Neiman Marcus, I discovered Au Naturale’s Blossom Anywhere Creme Multistick. I always appreciate a product that can work as both a lip and cheek color, and although I haven’t tried it I think the color Blossom in particular looks yummy.
Wishing those of you who celebrate it a safe and peaceful Thanksgiving.

P.S. If you happen to be reading this, I want to thank you, Suzie F., from Fort Myers, Florida, for coming up to me in the Nordstrom Cafe a few Fridays ago, and saying hi. It was a wonderful surprise, and I loved meeting you. You had such kind, gracious things to say about my YouTube videos, and it’s very much appreciated. Thank you so much again, and a big hug to you!
(ABOVE & BELOW) Although this slim, zip-top saffiano-leather Tory Burch card case comes with a lanyard, I use the case without it, and find it’s the perfect size for my smaller bags. Similar Tory Burch saffiano-leather card cases are available at Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, and Amazon. I also found almost the exact card case with lanyard from Gucci.
(ABOVE & BELOW) Recently, I found this Pouch for my four-ounce glass salad dressing Bottle, and I love the scallop detail. It comes in a set of three (this one is the medium size). I also found a similar 6.5″x5″x2.5″ blush-beige vegan cosmetic pouch at Amazon. (BELOW) I found the glass bottle about seven years ago. It comes in a box of six, and I use them to carry my salad dressing when dining out, and also for beauty oils I keep in my bathroom. For my dressing recipe: Home-Made Organic Salad Dressing.
(ABOVE & BELOW) Whenever I carry a bag that might easily be soiled, I take along a Portable Purse Hook for the table, like I did here, when I lunched at Nordstrom Cafe.
(ABOVE & BELOW) This Compact Beauty Mirror comes with a carry bag and is oversized, which makes it much easier to use for checking or even applying makeup.

Au Naturale also is available at Amazon.com and Neiman Marcus.

(ABOVE) Although I just discovered it on line and have not tried it, this also looks like a pretty color for both lips and cheeks: Au Naturale Anywhere Creme Multistick, Blossom, available at Neiman Marcus.com. Au Naturale products are also available at Amazon.com. Their ingredients are all non-GMO or organic, to which they add natural mineral color pigments; they also are paraben free, cruelty free, gluten free, and vegan.

As always, you look lovely! Blossom is a beautiful color. Choosing a lippy can be fraught with landmines. First you have to watch out for undesirable ingredients, then choosing a color and a finish is difficult. I can think of many lipsticks that I have purchased that looked good in the tube and were either too day or the color not complementary (or both).
Donna, thank you. You are so right about all the hurdles involved when choosing/purchasing a lip color. Same, I think, with foundation. And, it’s so nice to have one hurdle out of the way, at least, by choosing makeup from companies that use all-natural, less harmful ingredients. I also agree about lip colors that can be drying. My lips are already dry, so definitely don’t want them made even more dry! Yikes!

Enjoy weekend, Kind Regards Bernadine .. South Africa!
Hi, Bernadine, in beautiful South Africa! It’s so nice to hear from you again. Thank you for your very kind compliment. Hope you are doing well this weekend. 🙂
Beautiful jacket. Love your hair. I am growing my silver gray hair long. How often do you get your hair trimmed? Like you I love classic styles.
Jeanne, it’s so funny that you asked about when I get my hair trimmed. I just, finally, got it trimmed recently (before filming this and my next post coming out soon). I had gone to my regular hair-cutting shop about 4 months ago (the kind where you simply drop in and they fit you in within the next hour or so–no appointment necessary), and the place was closed. Since I didn’t have another place with which I was familiar, I put it off; it’s been almost a year, or maybe 9 months…I can’t really remember. Usually I get it trimmed about every 6 or 8 months…. Aren’t classic styles wonderful? I’m so grateful for the Internet, so that we get to view many choices at our leisure before making any decisions. It just makes shopping for clothes and shoes, etc., so much less stressful or complicated. Thank you for visiting my blog!
Looking Good, as usual! Flawless skin and make up…. Like you in blue!
Hi, Gail! Thank you, my good friend. Looking forward to seeing you in January when you return. I appreciate you visiting my blog!
