LONG CARDIGAN LOVE
I discovered long cardigans about 10 years ago, and I don’t know how I never noticed them before. They’re so cozy and comfortable, and they’re perfect with skinny jeans, leggings, and slim pants.
If I wore this one with a skirt or dress, I’d make sure they were slim fitting. I think petite girls could get away with skirts/dresses the length of the sweater. For me, I’d choose a skirt/dress just a few inches longer, and wear heels to keep the look long and lean.
Because of air conditioning, I often wear or carry a sweater with me during the summer. This one from Nordstrom is perfect for our steamy hot weather, because it’s a light-weight blend of 57% linen and the rest viscose and polyester.
I wore it to meet a friend for lunch this past Friday, along with a pair of silver leather ballet flats from Talbots, skinny pants I found at Marshall’s, and my white Kate Spade bag.
It started to rain as I was filming my introduction to this video, so I decided to switch out of my Talbots flats and into a pair of silver rubber flip flops. This time of year, even if it’s sunny as I leave the house, I often take a pair of flip flops to keep in the car. That way, if I’m caught in the middle of a summer rain, I can spare my good leather shoes.
Wherever you all are, I hope you’re having a sweet summer (or winter).
Have a great week!

(ABOVE & BELOW) This is me, moments before beginning filming. I’ve not yet turned on the studio lights, so you can see me and my makeup in regular household lighting–with a ceiling lamp above me and two small lamps behind me. Like always, I’m wearing powder foundation only on my face and lightly on my upper eyelids, but not under my eyes. I’ve found that putting powder or concealer under my eyes emphasizes my wrinkles. I’m comfortable with the dark shadows under my eyes. I was born with them.
