(ABOVE) Beige, tan, or taupe with white is one of my favorite color combinations. It’s such a calming, elongating look.

Taupe Poncho and White Skinny Jeans Outfit

It continues to not feel like winter here, but I still want to wear my ponchos, sweaters, and jackets to at least try to acknowledge the season. This taupe poncho worked well for me recently, because of its light weight. I also loved how it paired with my boots and bag, creating one long, lean look.

Because my outfit was so neutral, I decided to make my lips dramatic with a deep, wine color. I love this Lip Caramel by 100% Pure. Even after attempting to wipe it off, the stain remained behind. Talk about long lasting. It’s perfect with shea butter dabbed on top, because it keeps the color moist.

Hope you’re having a sweet day or evening, wherever you are.

(ABOVE & BELOW) On my lips: 100% Pure Lip Caramel, Plum Wine. On My Cheeks: 100% Pure Powder Blush, Plum.

Note: This is the second Lip Caramel I’ve tried, and I love both for their color-staying power. (See me wearing  Melon Drop.) Both of them go on like a lip gloss. However, unlike most lip glosses–which come off during a meal–the Lip Caramel color stays put. It may look like a gloss, but it has the staying power of a stain. However, unlike a stain, it stays moist on the lips even after hours of wear. Such a bonus! Because the color is intense, I like to apply it, blot it with a tissue, and then reapply and reblot until I achieve the depth of color I want. Then, I lightly dab shea butter on top to add back any moisture I removed by blotting.

  1. Enjoyable video! Question: when meeting a friend for lunch, do you find yourself dressing to compliment your friend’s style or do you dress for your mood of the day?

    • Hi, Cynthia! What a great question. “Dressing to compliment your friend’s style”? I would say, for the most part, I dress to reflect my own tastes/style and to be appropriate to the occasion/locale. If I’m going to someone’s house, and I know they dress very casually/formally, then I will dress the way they do, too–that is, my own version of it. For example, if they like to wear ripped jeans, I would wear my own casual jeans, but not ripped, because that’s not me. But, if that same person and I are going to an event where I would feel most comfortable and appropriate dressing formally, and they are choosing to dress more casually, then I would dress the way I feel most appropriate and comfortable–which is formally in this case–even though the other person is dressing casually. Ok, that’s a lot of rambling, but I hope I made some sense. Thank you for leaving your great comment! ~ Janis
