The Perfect Long White Shirt
My mission was to find a long, white, button-up shirt. It’s such a versatile basic to wear with–and have peeking out beneath–cardigans, pullovers, and jackets. I found a great one at Marshall’s; they just didn’t have my size. But, as is almost always the case, I did find something else I love: a pair of slim-fit, black and white pull-on pants. They’ll be perfect with that long white shirt when I eventually find it. And, they were just $16.99.
Following are some of the other cute, classic items I spotted for casual fall/winter days. One of my favorites was the long cable-knit cardigan. It would be so festive and cozy for the upcoming holidays.
Plus, I tried out a brand new fruit pigmented Lip and Cheek Tint, in the color Sugar Plum, from 100% Pure.
I used a stippling brush to apply it to my cheeks, my finger tip to apply it to my lips, and I love the dewy look. You can see what it looks like on me below.

TRY ON #1 : PLAID BAND-COLLAR SHIRT DRESS
(ABOVE) SHIRT DRESS: (Similar Bloomingdale’s; and Macy’s Here and Here in Petite Only). The dress I tried on was a medium, so it was too big. It was also too short for my long torso. In the correct size, it would look cute cinched at the waist with a thin leather belt, navy or burgundy wellies (rain boots) and socks peeking above. It would also look great with navy tights and ankle boots or with loafers/ballet flats and a navy cardigan sweater.

TRY ON #4: STRIPED BLUE AND WHITE SHIRT, ZIPPER LEGGINGS
(ABOVE & BELOW) SHIRT: BeachLunchLounge (Similar Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s ; Also Nordstrom Blue/White Stripe or Blue Chambray) / LEGGINGS: Willow & Clay (Similar Ann Taylor). I have several blue and white stripe cotton shirts like this one. I love them because they are cool in the summer and layer well under sweaters and blazers in fall and winter. I wear them exactly like I would a white shirt. They are a good neutral–a great basic piece. If this one had been longer and slimmer, I’d have bought it to wear with leggings.
(ABOVE) These leggings had great detailing. The seam makes them slimming, and the zippers and faux pockets (in back) make them much more interesting than plain leggings. This particular shirt is too short to wear with them, but I like both items separately.

They’d look great with jeans, leggings, ankle pants, casual shift dresses, and pencil skirts. They’d look great with a grey, pewter, or silver handbag, or with a grey or silver pant or skirt, white shirt, black cardigan, and a black or pastel-pink bag.
